Fancy having a go at Free Motion Embroidery?

This little one-hour taster is a chance to dip your toes in, have a play and see what you think.

We’ll show you how to set your machine up for free motion embroidery and how you can quite literally draw with your sewing machine. You’ll have a go at moving the fabric yourself, playing with different stitches, adding little pieces of fabric and trying a few different techniques.

It’s not about going home with a finished project — it’s about getting the feel of it, understanding how it works and having enough of a go to decide whether you’d like to learn more.

You don’t need to be brilliant at sewing and you certainly don’t need to be able to draw, but you do need to know the basics of using a sewing machine.

Everything you need to have a play will be here, and you can bring your own machine or use one of ours, subject to availability.

One hour. A pile of fabric scraps. A sewing machine. And a good old play.
